Manta Watch NZ & Department of Conservation Media Release

Manta rays – gentle giants of New Zealand’s seas – are making increasing appearances this summer as DOC and Manta Watch NZ urge people to report sightings of the rare, huge fish.

So far 2022 has been our biggest manta season yet, and we still have a couple of months left! Huge thanks to everyone that has got in touch and submitted sightings so far.
